Reformed in November 2022, the Stalybridge Celtic Supporters Association is a Community Benefit Society and member of the Football Supporters Association with the aim of putting the fans back at the heart of Stalybridge Celtic Football Club. We represent the interests of Stalybridge Celtic fans and association members, providing a line of communication to the club and an increased say on all things happening at Bower Fold.
We provide reasonably priced travel to away fixtures for our members, alongside holding regular fundraisers, offer merchandise through our SCSA Store and being a prominent face within the local Stalybridge community.
Our aims are to protect and ensure the security of the club for future generations. A 25% stake in the club will place us as the second majority share in the club and allow us to have a firm say in the running of the club as well as any potential future sales. As an SCSA member, that means you are a significant shareholder in the club you love.
With the SCSA having an elected member on the board of the football club, we can ensure any suggestions, thoughts, feelings or concerns you have related to the club can be escalated to the board of the club, and any action that needs to be taken can be done accordingly.
We're keen to bring the town and the football club closer together, repairing a relationship that has suffered years of neglect. We want the SCSA to provide a prominent role local community activities and charities, bringing more people back to Bower Fold and ensuring the town has a football club to be proud of.
At present we are well on our way towards our target of a 25% stake in the club.
Our share hold currently stands at just over 7%.
SCSA chairman, Shaun Bishop has become the inaugural SCSA representative on the Stalybridge Celtic board as part of the new executive committee. An SCSA representative will hold the Matchday/Supporter Experience Director position.
In just a short space of time we've welcomed around 150 members to the SCSA, including a branch in the USA.
This represents around a third of the average attendance at Stalybridge Celtic.
The SCSA made significant donations to the club during 2022/23 to pay historic utility bill debts and ensure the town still has a club to support.
The terraces have been full of beanie hats, t-shirts and scarves since last year following the opening of the SCSA Store at the far end of the ground.
We've been active in the local community, hosting Bridge Aid at the New Labour Club, taken part in the Stalybridge Carnival and held initiatives to get more school children into Bower Fold for games.
